Land Acknowledgment Statement

We acknowledge with respect, the history, spirituality, and culture of the Anishinaabek: The People of the Three Fires known as Ojibway, Odawa, and Pottawatomi Nation, who have inhabited this land from time immemorial. And further give thanks to the Chippewas of Saugeen, and the Chippewas of Nawash, now known as the Saugeen Ojibway Nation, as the traditional keepers of this land. We also recognize, the Metis and Inuit whose ancestors shared this land and these waters. May we all, as Treaty People, live with respect on this land, and live-in peace and friendship with all its diverse peoples.

• Recommendation:

  That the regular meeting of Committee of the Whole be recessed to hold a public hearing for Zoning Amendment Application Z-18-22 for the Estate of Muriel McCrabb.

5.1.1

Joint Report for Consent Applications B24/22 & B25/22 and Zoning By-l law Amendment Application Z-18-22 for the Estate of Murial McCrabb

• Recommendation:

  It has been demonstrated that application Z-18-22 for the estate of Murial McCrabb for lands as described as Pt Lt 24 Conc 15 Keppel, PT 3 16R1539; T/W R298038 is consistent with the Provincial Policy Statement, conforms with the County of Grey’s Official Plan, and complies with the general intent and purpose of the Township of Georgian Bluffs’ Zoning By-law. It is recommended that the application be approved.

Community Services

8.1.1

CSD2023-01 - Kemble Community Centre Update and Information

• Recommendation:

  That Council receive for information the Kemble Community Centre renovation design concept, an update on the process of developing the Community Centre plan and a revised budget; and

  That Council defer the project until additional sources of funding are identified; and

  That Council direct staff to withdraw the existing Infrastructure Canada Investing in Canada Community, Culture and Recreation stream (ICIP CCR) grant application and apply to Infrastructure Canada’s Green and Inclusive Buildings (GICB) fund; and

  That Council direct staff to bring back a report by fall 2023, providing an update on funding and proposed project implementation.

Human Resources

8.2.1

HR2023-001 - CAO Performance Review Policy Revisions

• Recommendation:

  Whereas Council of the Township of Georgian Bluffs adopted an Annual CAO Performance Policy in March of 2020; and

  Whereas since the adoption of said policy, staff have identified areas for revision that may increase its efficiency;

  Now therefore, be it resolved that Council hereby directs staff to amend the CAO Annual Performance Review Policy as follows:

  That the performance review process be revised so that it occurs in June, instead of November of each year; and

  That the 360-Degree Assessment provision be amended so that it is held in the Spring instead of the fall of Council’s second year of term; and

  That Council review the RFP for consulting services to conduct the 360-Degree Assessment; and

  That the months of November and December be dedicated to focus on goal setting for the upcoming year in conjunction with the budget process.
