In the spirit of reconciliation, we acknowledge with respect, the history, spirituality, and culture of the Anishinaabek: The People of the Three Fires known as Ojibway, Odawa, and Pottawatomi Nation, who have inhabited this land from time immemorial. And further give thanks to the Chippewas of Saugeen, and the Chippewas of Nawash, now known as the Saugeen Ojibway Nation, as the traditional keepers of this land. We also recognize, the Metis and Inuit whose ancestors shared this land and these waters. Whereas staff have developed a draft program in consultation with Township risk management and legal teams;


Now Therefore, Committee hereby supports the draft Short Term Rental Accommodations Licensing Framework, as appended herein; and


That a by-law to formalize the licensing framework be presented for enactment in Q3.

  • Recommendation:

    That Council direct staff to enter into a Shared Services agreement with the City of Owen Sound for the provision of Fire Prevention Services, and,

    That the CAO be authorized to sign an agreement for the provision of Shared Services as per this report on an annual basis, pending budget approval, until such time as the services are no longer required, and,

    That the agreement specifies a ‘day rate’ for Fire Prevention Services to be provided to the Township by the City and that the Township be invoiced on a monthly basis for Fire Prevention Services and,

    That the City will generally provide Fire Prevention Services to the Township on one day weekly and that no more than $50,000 be spent on Fire Prevention Services in 2024

  • Recommendation:

    That Policy CES2024-01 (as amended) be endorsed to the support the creation of a Privately Maintained Road Grant; and

    That staff be directed to accept completed applications effective July 8th, 2024.

  • Recommendation:

    That the proposed 2025 budget timeline and guiding principles be endorsed by Council.

  • Recommendation:

    That report COR2024-025 – 2025 Council Schedule be received for information; and

    That the 2025 Council Schedule be approved as presented; and

    That staff be directed to carry out all administrative actions necessary to call the meetings contained herein.

Being a By-law to amend Zoning By-law No. 2020-020, as amended, of the Township of Georgian Bluffs. 

  • Recommendation:

    Whereas, Council has given consideration to the written comments submitted by the agencies in the decision on proposed Zoning By-law Amendment Application Z-02-24 for Mark, Mitchell and Sarah-May Taylor, for property located at 319913 Kemble Road Road, Kemble; and

    Whereas Council has considered oral submissions made at the Public Meeting;

    Therefore be it resolved that Council of the Township of Georgian Bluffs is satisfied that the proposed amendment is consistent with the Provincial Policy Statement 2020 and other governing regulations; and

    That By-law 2024-037 be read a first, second and third time, and finally passed, signed by the Mayor and Clerk, sealed with the Seal of the Corporation, and engrossed in the By-law Book.

Being a By-law to establish and levy Tax Rates for the Township of Georgian Bluffs purposes; confirm the County of Grey and School Board rates for the year 2024; provide for penalty and interest in default of payment thereof; and establish alternative instalments and due dates.  

  • Recommendation:
