In the spirit of reconciliation, we acknowledge with respect, the history and living culture of the Anishinaabek: The People of the Three Fires known as Ojibway, Odawa, and Pottawatomi Nation, who have inhabited this land from time immemorial. We recognize that these lands are the territories of the Chippewas of Saugeen and the Chippewas of Nawash, collectively known as the Saugeen Ojibway Nation, the keepers of this land.

Georgian Bluffs is located on lands encompassed by Treaties 45 ½ , 67, 72, 82 and 93. We reflect on our role as Treaty People and, the need to live in respect and peace and show respect to the first peoples who inhabit these lands and waters.

  • Recommendation:

  • Recommendation:

    That Council direct staff to award RFP2025-01 being and Request for Proposal for Waste Collection Services to Company B as per report CAO2025-019, and,

    That Council direct staff to enter into detailed contract negotiations with Company B to develop a draft contract for services that will deliver curbside automated collection of waste using carts on a biweekly basis, with weekly organics collection, (Scenario 4) and

    That Council direct staff to include an annual large item collection service (Scenario 5) within the contract discussions, and,

    That staff bring a draft contract back for Council review prior to signing and,

    That staff extend the option to participate in the contract with the Township absorbing all waste disposal fees with the Block 75 Condos at Cobble Beach, and,

    That the contract for services be started no later than June 1st, 2026.

  • Recommendation:

    That the Township of Georgian Bluffs endorses the updating of By Law No. 14-2010 Regulate Open- Air Burns, as attached, and,

    That staff be directed to implement permitting software, burnpermits.com, to support permit administration, and,

    That an administrative fee be implemented to recover cost of permit administration, and,

    That staff be directed to amend the Fees and Charges bylaw and bring to Council for approval to reflect the administrative fee.

  • Recommendation:

    That Council indicates support in-principle for a hybrid service delivery model for Grey County with Georgian Bluffs as a participant and,

    That staff be directed to share such support with Grey County staff prior to May 9th, 2025.

  • Recommendation:

    THAT Council receive Staff Report DEV2025-035 entitled “Speed Limit Review – Concession 24 and Zion Church Road”;

    AND THAT the speed limit on Concession 24, from Zion Church Road to approximately 1345 m east of Side Road 20 / Gleason Lake Road be reduced to 60 km/h from the existing 80 km/h.

    AND THAT the speed limit on Zion Church Road, from Grey Road 1 to Concession Road 21 be reduced to 60 km/h from the existing 80 km/h.

    AND THAT a by-law to amend the speed limits be presented at the April 16, 2025 Council meeting.
